As summer quickly approaches and we shake the winter cob webs off, the sun moves us to want to step out and enjoy some quality family time. What's better than soaking in the sun rays together?

Summer offers so many outdoor activities the possibilities are endless. Whether it's going on a hike, flying kites, or a good game of soccer, going back to basics can be humbling. With all the distractions today, iPhones, video games, social media, it's easy to 'disconnect' while still being connected.

I recently had a Saturday that was completely free (which is rare), my first thought was to turn on Netflix, but this little voice inside of me said "GO OUTSIDE." I listened. And boy was I happy I did. I ended up enjoying a wonderful nature hike, saw some cute animals and even met some friendly fellow hikers. What was even more enjoyable was seeing all of the families taking the time to get out of the norm and comfortable and venture out together on an adventure.

Challenge #2

Alright moms and dads, now is the time to gather up the kiddos and family pets and get out there! Whatever it may be, just be sure to be out in the fresh air and doing something that does not involve any type of device. You will not regret it!
