It's been said, seen, and even known that our children are great imitators. Especially at the preschool age and school-age of our children. Children are absorbing everything in their environment; physically, emotionally, and mentally. That is why it is so important that our children are not only learning who God is from teachers at school, volunteers in Sunday school, and pastor at church, but at home for us, parents and guardians. It is so important for our children to have a rock solid foundation of who they are and what God's Truth is.
Where should we start? In the book, the Bible, God's word. Just like children memorize the lines in their favorite movies or the words to their favorite song, they can memorize the Word of the Lord. How? REPETITION! I think the whole world may know the words the Disney's Frozen song "Let it Go" just because of how much it was heard and played and repeated. Let's do this for our children with God's word (but not "play it out"...lol). As parents and guardians, we have so many resources at our disposal: Google, Pinterest, Tater Tots Preschool, (& of course) the Bible. When googling "memory verses for children", I was brought to a link "10 Easy Bible Verses for Children to Memorize" from a website Ministry-to-Children. It's a perfect start for us and our children!
Another thing children love love love, is story time. Bed time is a perfect place to get our children settled down and begin learning the Bible stories God wrote in His word. There are so many different children Bibles to choose from. Even the Dollar Tree has little cardboard story books from the Bible. Find what works for you and your family and run with it. You will find that YOU, as well as, your children are growing in God's word and growing even closer to Him.
